Exterior installation pricing depends on several factors. We don’t post flat rates because every home is different — but here’s exactly what drives the estimate you’ll receive.
The number of units being installed is the single biggest pricing factor. One window screen is fast; rescreening an entire sunroom is a half-day job. One mailbox post is straightforward; twelve gutter guard sections on a two-story home is a full crew day. We quote based on actual scope, not a ballpark.
Roofline holiday light installation on a single-story home is very different from a two-story with steep pitch. Gutter guard installation on a ranch house versus a 28-foot eave involves different ladder setups and safety protocols. Height and access difficulty affect labor time and, by extension, price.
Mounting into vinyl siding, wood, stucco, brick, and masonry each require different fasteners, anchors, and techniques. Brick and masonry require hammer-drill anchors. Stucco requires careful surface prep to prevent cracking. These substrate differences affect both material cost and labor time.
For some services, customers supply their own product (shutters, pergola kit, skylight) and we supply the labor. For others like screen replacement, weather stripping, and gutter guards, we carry materials on the truck. Your quote will clearly separate labor from materials and specify what’s included.
If there’s damage or rot around a window frame before shutter installation, or a gate post is leaning before hardware is added, that prep work is additional. We document and quote any prep requirements separately so you can decide before any work begins. You’re never billed for scope we didn’t discuss.

Most single exterior installations are completed in one visit, typically 1 to 4 hours depending on the scope. Larger projects like pergola assembly or multi-window shutter installations may require a full day. You’ll receive a time estimate in your written quote before work begins.
It depends on the service. For some jobs like screen replacement or weather stripping, our technicians carry common materials on the truck. For custom or specific products like shutters, skylights, or pergola kits, we recommend you have the product on-site before scheduling. We confirm material requirements during your quote.
Yes. NorTech technicians install standard skylights and roof windows. The installation includes fitting, flashing, and sealing to prevent leaks. For structural roof modifications, we will assess during the on-site diagnostic and advise if additional trades are needed.
NorTech installs pet doors in standard wood, fiberglass, and hollow-core doors as well as exterior walls. Installation in steel doors, sliding glass doors, or walls with insulation requires a specialty assessment. This is evaluated during your free on-site quote.
We handle both installation and removal. You can supply your own lights or ask about our standard options. Our team handles all hanging, fastening, and connection to outdoor outlets. Removal service is scheduled separately and includes full takedown and storage-ready bundling.
Our gutter guard service includes cleaning the existing gutters, fitting and securing the guard system, and testing downspout flow. We carry micro-mesh and surface-tension guard types on our trucks for most standard gutter sizes. Downspout extensions and rerouting are also available.
Our concrete service covers small-area work: walkways, entry pads, steps, and utility slabs up to approximately 200 square feet. Large driveway pours and structural foundations fall outside our scope. If your project exceeds our range, we’ll let you know before any work is scheduled.
