Our Services
Appliance Repair & Installation — All Six Categories
NorTech technicians repair faulty units and install new appliances across all major brands. Select a service to see full details, common issues we fix, and what installation includes.
Washer & Dryer Repair and Installation
Washing machines and dryers handle some of the hardest work in your home. When they fail mid-cycle, stop heating, or won’t drain, NorTech diagnoses the fault and fixes it — usually on the first visit. Installing a new unit? We handle the full hookup including water lines, drain connections, and vent ducting for dryers.
Learn MoreRefrigerator Repair and Installation
A refrigerator that stops cooling is a food-safety emergency. NorTech prioritizes fridge calls and stocks the most common parts for all major brands on every truck. Replacing an old unit? We handle delivery positioning, water line connection for ice makers and dispensers, and full leveling — then haul away the old one.
Learn MoreOven & Stove Repair and Installation
Gas or electric, freestanding range or built-in wall oven — NorTech technicians are trained on all configurations. Whether a burner won’t ignite, an oven can’t hold temperature, or you’re swapping in a new unit, we handle the repair or the full installation including gas line and electrical connections.
Learn MoreDishwasher Repair and Installation
A dishwasher that doesn’t drain, won’t clean, or leaks onto your floor needs attention before it causes water damage. NorTech identifies the fault and fixes it on the spot on most calls. Installing a new unit? We handle water supply, drain hookup, electrical connection, and cabinet mounting — everything it takes for a leak-free install.
Learn MoreRange Hood & Ventilation Repair and Installation
A range hood that doesn’t ventilate properly fills your kitchen with grease, smoke, and odors — and creates a long-term grease buildup hazard. NorTech repairs ducted and ductless models and installs new units with full duct routing and electrical connection for a clean, code-compliant setup.
Learn MoreGarbage Disposal Repair and Installation
Jammed, humming, leaking, or completely dead — garbage disposals fail in a handful of predictable ways and most are fixable on the spot. When replacement makes more sense, NorTech installs the new unit cleanly, including drain line connection and switch wiring, with no mess left behind.

What Affects the Cost of Appliance Repair & Installation?
Appliance repair and installation pricing varies based on the appliance, the fault, and the scope of the job. Click any factor to learn more.
A dishwasher pump replacement is a very different job from a refrigerator compressor assessment or a gas range installation. Each appliance category has its own parts and labor profile.
A lid switch or door latch costs far less to replace than a control board or sealed refrigerant system. The diagnostic identifies the exact part before any estimate is given.
Parts cost varies significantly by manufacturer. Premium brands like Sub-Zero or Wolf have higher parts costs than standard consumer models.
Gas appliance work — dryers, ranges, cooktops — requires additional leak testing steps that add time to the job.
Removing and disposing of the old unit adds a flat fee to installation jobs. Quoted upfront if requested.
Every job starts with a full on-site diagnostic. You receive a complete written estimate before any work begins — no surprises.

Common Appliance Problems and What They Mean
Most appliance failures have a predictable root cause. Here’s what the symptom usually points to — and what NorTech does to fix it.
Washer Won’t Drain or Spin
Usually a blocked drain pump filter, a failed lid switch preventing the spin cycle from engaging, or a worn drive belt. In top-loaders, a broken clutch is also common. Most are same-visit repairs.
Washer & Dryer Repair →Dryer Not Heating
On electric dryers, a blown thermal fuse or failed heating element is the most common cause. On gas dryers, the igniter or gas valve solenoid. A clogged vent duct can also trigger thermal cutoffs — we check that too.
Washer & Dryer Repair →Refrigerator Not Cooling
A fridge that’s running but not cooling typically has a failed evaporator fan, a dirty condenser coil, or a blocked defrost drain. If the compressor is the issue, we’ll tell you — and give you an honest repair vs. replace recommendation.
Refrigerator Repair →Oven Not Reaching Temperature
On electric ovens, a faulty bake or broil element is the most frequent cause. On gas ovens, a weak igniter that won’t hold a flame long enough to open the gas valve. Temperature sensor failures are also common on both types.
Oven & Stove Repair →Dishwasher Leaving Dishes Dirty
Clogged or cracked spray arms, a failed wash pump motor, or a blocked filter at the bottom of the tub are the usual culprits. Water temperature issues from a faulty heating element also prevent proper cleaning.
Dishwasher Repair →Garbage Disposal Hums But Won’t Spin
The motor is receiving power but the grinding plate is jammed — usually from a hard object caught in the chamber. This is almost always repairable on the spot without replacement. A completely silent disposal typically has a tripped reset button or a failed switch.

When Appliance Repair Makes Sense vs. New Installation
The 50% rule: if repair cost is under half the replacement price and the unit is under 10 years old, repair almost always wins financially. NorTech handles both — we’ll tell you honestly which direction makes sense.
Repair Makes Sense When…
- The appliance is under 8–10 years old
- Repair cost is less than 50% of replacement value
- The unit is a high-end or specialized model
- The fault is a single, diagnosable component
- Replacement would require cabinet or countertop modifications
- The appliance is still under manufacturer warranty
New Installation Makes Sense When…
- The appliance is 12+ years old
- This is the second or third major repair in two years
- The compressor or motor has failed completely
- Parts are discontinued or unavailable
- An energy-efficient replacement would offset the cost
- You’re already remodeling and upgrading appliances
