Stud Location & Layout
Every wall cabinet is secured into studs — never just drywall. We locate studs before drilling and mark the layout lines so every cabinet is positioned correctly from the first unit installed.
Leveling & Shimming
Floors and walls are rarely perfectly level. Base cabinets are shimmed from below and wall cabinets are shimmed at mounting points to ensure every run is level regardless of what the surface underneath is doing.
Securing & Fastening
Cabinets are secured to studs with appropriate screws and fasteners for the cabinet material. Adjacent cabinets are also fastened together through the face frames or side panels to prevent separation over time.
Door & Drawer Adjustment
Every door is adjusted for consistent reveal, proper swing, and flush closure. Every drawer is tested for smooth operation and adjusted if binding or misaligned. Soft-close hardware is calibrated if present.
Scribing & Filler Strips
Where cabinets meet walls that are out of plumb, scribe molding or filler strips close the gap cleanly. This step is what separates a professional installation from a rough one — gaps against the wall are not acceptable.
Cleanup & Final Inspection

Sagging Wall Cabinets
Wall cabinets that have pulled away from the wall or are visibly dropping are a safety hazard. This happens when cabinets were not secured into studs. Re-anchoring requires locating proper structural backing and re-mounting before the cabinet fails completely.
Misaligned Cabinet Doors
Doors that don’t close flush, hang at an angle, or leave uneven gaps between adjacent doors are an adjustment issue — usually correctable by tuning the European hinges without removing the door. If the cabinet box itself is racked, shimming may be required.
Drawer Slides Failing
Drawers that stick, fall off track, or won’t close fully usually have worn or broken drawer slides. Slide replacement is a straightforward repair — the drawer is removed, old slides are unscrewed, and new slides are installed and adjusted for smooth operation.
Gaps at the Wall
Visible gaps between cabinet sides and the adjacent wall are a sign the cabinets were installed without scribing or filler strips. This is a cosmetic issue that can be resolved by adding scribe molding cut to match the wall’s profile.
Cabinet Not Level
An unlevel cabinet run causes every door and drawer in that section to operate improperly. Correcting this after installation requires loosening the fasteners, shimming to level, and re-securing — not a simple fix, but a necessary one.
Vanity Not Centered on Plumbing
A bathroom vanity installed without accounting for the plumbing location creates clearance issues for the drain and supply lines. Repositioning requires careful remeasurement, wall patching at the old location, and re-securing at the correct position.
