Our Battery Service Options
From a quick health check to a full AGM upgrade — every service is performed on-site with professional equipment.
Battery Health Test
Digital diagnostic measuring voltage, cold-cranking amps (CCA), reserve capacity, and overall health. Visual inspection for swelling, corrosion, and acid leaks included.
Terminal & Cable Service
Full cleaning and conditioning of terminals and cable ends. Corrosion removal, dielectric grease application, connection tightening, and cable integrity inspection.
Battery Replacement
Safe removal of the old battery, installation of a new OEM-spec or higher unit, post-install voltage test, secure terminal connections, and responsible recycling of the old battery.
Charging System Check
Full diagnostic of alternator output, voltage regulator function, battery draw, and starter performance — verifying balanced power delivery across the entire electrical system.
AGM / Performance Upgrade
Installation of Absorbent Glass Mat (AGM), Enhanced Flooded Battery (EFB), or performance-grade batteries engineered for heavy electrical demand, start-stop systems, and extreme conditions.
Pro Tip
Combine a Battery Health Test with a Charging System Check for complete electrical visibility. A bad alternator will kill a brand new battery within days — replacing the battery alone without checking the charging system is one of the most common (and expensive) mistakes drivers make.
Which Battery Type Does Your Vehicle Need?
We stock and install all battery technologies to match your vehicle’s exact requirements — no substitutions.
Flooded Lead-Acid
Standard battery for older vehicles and basic electrical systems. Reliable and cost-effective for low-demand applications.
Best For: Pre-2010 vehicles
AGM Battery
Absorbent Glass Mat technology — spill-proof, vibration-resistant, and ideal for vehicles with start-stop systems or heavy electronics.
Best For: Modern / Luxury / Start-Stop
EFB Battery
Enhanced Flooded Battery — a step up from standard, designed for entry-level start-stop vehicles with moderate electrical demand.
Best For: Entry start-stop vehicles
High-Performance / Heavy Duty
Maximum cold-cranking amps and reserve capacity for trucks, fleet vehicles, extreme climates, and aftermarket electronics.
Best For: Trucks, diesel, extreme duty

Warning Signs Your Battery Is Failing
Don’t wait for a no-start. These are the signals your battery is sending before it leaves you stranded.
Slow Engine Crank
The engine turns over slowly or sluggishly before starting — especially noticeable on cold mornings. A classic early sign of a battery losing cranking power.
Dashboard Warning Light
The battery or charging indicator illuminating means your electrical system is underperforming. Don’t ignore it — it can point to both the battery and the alternator.
Frequent Jump Starts
Needing a jump more than once means your battery can no longer hold a proper charge. Jump starts are a temporary fix — not a solution.
Headlights Dimming at Idle
Lights that brighten when you rev the engine but dim at idle indicate the alternator isn’t producing sufficient charge at low RPM — often a battery or charging system issue.
Swollen or Leaking Battery
A visibly bloated case or white/blue crystalline buildup around terminals means the battery has been overcharged or is internally failing. Replace immediately.
Battery Is 3–5+ Years Old
Even without symptoms, most batteries degrade significantly after 3 years and should be tested annually. After 5 years, proactive replacement prevents unexpected failure.

Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you need to know about battery testing and replacement with NorTech.
How do I know if I need a new battery or just a charge?
A digital load test tells you definitively. If the battery fails under load — meaning its CCA or reserve capacity has dropped below spec — it needs replacing, not charging. A battery that keeps going flat after charging has failed internally and won’t recover.
How long does a car battery typically last?
Most standard batteries last 3–5 years. AGM and high-performance batteries can last 5–7 years. Heat accelerates degradation significantly — vehicles in hot climates like Florida tend to see battery life closer to the 3-year end.
Can you replace a battery on a vehicle with a start-stop system?
Yes. Start-stop vehicles require an AGM or EFB battery — not a standard flooded battery. Installing the wrong type will damage the charging system and cause premature failure. We always confirm the correct spec before replacing.
Do I need to reset anything after a battery replacement?
Some vehicles require a radio code re-entry, window recalibration, or BMS (Battery Management System) reset after replacement. We’ll let you know before we start and walk you through any steps required after the install.
What does the charging system check involve?
We test alternator output voltage (should be 13.5–14.8V at idle), voltage regulator function, starter draw, and parasitic drain. This tells us whether the battery itself is the problem or whether another component is killing it.
What happens to my old battery?
We take it with us and drop it off at a certified recycling facility. Lead-acid batteries are hazardous waste — we handle disposal responsibly so you don’t have to worry about it.
Can you service a vehicle that won’t start at all?
Yes. If your vehicle is completely dead, we can still come to you. Our technicians carry jump packs to bring the vehicle online for diagnostics, then replace the battery on-site — no tow needed in most cases.
Do you carry OEM batteries?
We carry batteries that meet or exceed OEM specifications. If you have a preference for a specific brand or OEM part, let us know when booking and we’ll source it before your appointment.
