Buy Now, Pay Later for
Home & Auto Services:
Everything You Need to Know
When you book through NorTech, you have the option to pay using trusted third-party Buy Now, Pay Later providers — including Klarna, Afterpay, and PayPal Pay Later. Here’s how each one works and what to expect at checkout.
A failing furnace, a roof that can’t wait, brakes that are metal on metal — these aren’t discretionary purchases you can put off. But a large, unplanned service bill shouldn’t force you to drain your savings either. NorTech’s checkout supports several leading Buy Now, Pay Later providers, giving you the flexibility to split your payment into manageable installments — directly through platforms you may already use and trust. NorTech does not issue financing directly. All BNPL plans are provided, managed, and governed by the respective third-party provider you choose.
Why Flexible Payment Options Matter
Most home and auto service emergencies don’t come with advance notice — and most households aren’t financially prepared for them.

BNPL Providers Available at Checkout
When you confirm a service booking through NorTech, you will see the following payment options at checkout — subject to availability in your area and each provider’s eligibility requirements. All terms, rates, and repayment schedules are set by the provider, not by NorTech.
Klarna
Klarna offers two main options: “Pay in 4” (four interest-free installments over six weeks) and longer-term monthly financing for larger amounts. Approval is instant and does not always require a hard credit check for the Pay in 4 option.
0% interest on Pay in 4
Afterpay
Afterpay splits your total into four equal payments, charged automatically every two weeks. There are no interest charges as long as payments are made on time. Late fees apply for missed payments per Afterpay’s terms.
No interest if paid on time
PayPal Pay Later
PayPal offers “Pay in 4” for smaller purchases and “Pay Monthly” for larger service totals, with terms from 6 to 24 months. Rates vary based on your PayPal account history and credit profile. Available to existing PayPal account holders.
Pay in 4 or monthly plans
Other Providers
NorTech may support additional BNPL providers depending on your service area, the type of work booked, and the total amount. Available options are displayed at checkout in real time based on your location and order details.

How to Use BNPL at NorTech Checkout
The process is the same regardless of which provider you choose. Here’s what to expect from the moment you confirm your service to your first payment.
Request Your Service & Receive a Quote
Submit a service request through NorTech. A vetted professional will assess the job and provide a detailed written quote covering the full scope, total cost, and timeline. BNPL payment options are shown after you review and confirm the quote amount.
Select a BNPL Provider at Checkout
At the payment step, you will see the available BNPL providers alongside the standard full-payment option. Each option displays the installment amount, number of payments, and schedule before you proceed. Select the provider that works best for your situation.
Important to Know
NorTech does not determine which BNPL options appear for you. Availability is determined in real time by each provider based on your location, order total, and eligibility.
Complete the Provider’s Approval Process
You will be redirected to or prompted by the selected provider — Klarna, Afterpay, PayPal, or another — to complete their own application or sign-in process. Approval decisions are made entirely by the provider. NorTech has no involvement in, or visibility into, the approval decision.
Credit Check Policy
Most Pay in 4 options use only a soft inquiry, which does not affect your credit score. Longer-term monthly plans may require a hard inquiry. This is disclosed by the provider before you accept any offer.
Service Is Scheduled & Completed
Once your payment method is confirmed — whether BNPL or standard — your service is scheduled through NorTech in the usual way. BNPL approval does not delay scheduling. In most service areas, same-day or next-day availability applies regardless of payment method.
Manage Payments Directly With Your Provider
All repayment activity — including payment dates, amounts, account changes, and any disputes — is managed directly through your chosen provider’s platform. NorTech is not a party to the financing agreement and cannot modify, defer, or cancel payments on your behalf.
For Payment Issues
Contact Klarna, Afterpay, or PayPal support directly. For issues related to the service itself — quality, scheduling, or disputes with the professional — contact NorTech support.
Before You Choose BNPL: What to Watch For
BNPL is a genuinely useful tool when used with awareness. These are the most common pitfalls to understand before you commit to a plan.
Late Fees Add Up Quickly
Every BNPL provider charges fees for missed or late payments. These are capped differently by each provider but can erode the value of a 0% interest offer if you miss even one installment.
Monthly Plans Can Carry Interest
While “Pay in 4” options are typically interest-free, longer-term monthly plans — such as PayPal Pay Monthly — carry an APR that can range widely. Always review the full cost of the plan before accepting.
Stacking Plans Increases Risk
Using multiple BNPL plans across different providers simultaneously can make payments difficult to track. Missed payments across any of them can affect your eligibility for future BNPL approvals.
Refunds Follow Provider Policy
If a service issue results in a partial or full refund from NorTech, the return to your BNPL account is governed by the provider’s refund processing timeline — not NorTech’s. This can take several business days.
Frequently Asked Questions
No. NorTech does not issue financing or payment plans directly. All Buy Now, Pay Later options available at checkout are provided by independent third-party companies — currently Klarna, Afterpay, and PayPal Pay Later, among others. NorTech’s role is to make these payment options accessible during checkout. The financing relationship is between you and the provider you select.
It depends on the provider and plan you choose. Most Pay in 4 options — including those from Klarna and Afterpay — use only a soft credit inquiry, which does not affect your score. PayPal’s longer monthly plans and certain Klarna monthly financing options may require a hard inquiry. Each provider discloses this before you accept an offer. NorTech does not have access to or involvement in any credit check process.
If NorTech approves a refund for a service issue, the refund is returned to your BNPL provider — not directly to your bank account. From there, the provider applies it to your outstanding balance or returns it according to their own refund policy. Processing timelines vary by provider but typically range from three to ten business days. Contact your BNPL provider directly for specific guidance.
Yes. Each BNPL provider makes independent approval decisions based on their own criteria. Being declined by one provider does not prevent you from applying with another. If BNPL options are unavailable, standard payment by debit or credit card remains available at checkout.
Payment-related issues — including missed payments, billing questions, account changes, or disputes about charges — must be handled directly with your provider: Klarna (klarna.com/us/customer-service), Afterpay (afterpay.com/en-US/help), or PayPal (paypal.com/us/cshelp). NorTech support can assist with service-related concerns but cannot access or modify your BNPL account in any way.
BNPL availability depends on the service type, total order amount, your location, and each provider’s eligibility rules. Minimum order thresholds vary by provider — most Pay in 4 plans require a minimum of $35 to $50. For larger projects such as roof replacements or HVAC installations, monthly financing options may be more appropriate. The available options are displayed at checkout based on your specific booking.
Buy Now, Pay Later options available at NorTech checkout are provided by independent third-party financial service companies. NorTech Services is not a lender and does not issue, manage, or guarantee any financing arrangement. Terms, rates, fees, and eligibility are determined solely by the respective BNPL provider.
