Preparing Your Vehicle for Service
Vehicle services require a different kind of prep than home visits. Here’s how to set up for a smooth, safe, and efficient appointment β whether it’s a repair, detail, or routine maintenance job.
- Oil changes & undercarriage work: Vehicle must be parked on a flat, level surface β not on a slope, curb, or incline
- Tire work: Ensure the vehicle is on stable, flat ground with ample clearance on all sides
- Engine repairs: Pull forward or park in a way that gives the technician full front-end access
- Leave enough space on both sides for the technician to move around freely
- If service is at your home, use the driveway β not the street β when possible
- Interior detail & cleaning: Remove all personal items β bags, clothing, documents, car seats, trash, and anything stored in the cabin
- Trunk or cargo area: Fully empty for deep cleaning services
- Glove box & center console: Remove valuables, sensitive documents, and electronics
- Do not leave cash, wallets, or important cards inside the vehicle
- Remove child car seats if interior deep cleaning is scheduled
- Allow at least 30β60 minutes of cool-down time before an oil change or fluid service
- Do not run the engine immediately before a brake or exhaust inspection
- If arriving from a long drive, notify the technician upon scheduling
- A/C services may require the system to be running β we’ll let you know in advance if so
- Year, make, model, and trim level of the vehicle
- Most recent mileage (dashboard reading)
- When the last oil change, tire rotation, or service was performed
- Describe any symptoms: sounds, smells, warning lights, handling changes
- Have your vehicle registration available if the technician needs to verify VIN
- Remove exterior accessories β antenna toppers, stickers being replaced, bike racks, or hitches
- Close all windows fully β even a small gap allows water intrusion during washing
- Remove aftermarket spoilers or accessories that could be damaged during washing if fragile
- Let the technician know about any paint chips, scratches, or sensitive areas to work around
- Park in a shaded area when possible β direct sun causes water spots during hand wash and detail
- Point out every area of concern before work begins β do a full walkthrough with the technician
- Wash the vehicle beforehand if possible β or let us know and we can include a pre-wash
- Do not wax or apply any coatings within 48 hours before a paint correction appointment
- Note any previous DIY repairs or touch-ups the technician should be aware of
- Park in a covered or shaded location to ensure optimal working conditions
