The Warranty
What the Labor Warranty Covers
NorTech guarantees that any repair, installation, or service performed by our certified technicians will be free from defects in workmanship for one full year from the date of service completion. If any issues arise due to improper workmanship within this period, we correct them at no additional labor cost.
Covered Under Warranty
Defects in workmanship within 1 year
- Errors in workmanship related to the service performed — anything that prevents it from functioning as intended due to how the work was done
- Labor required to correct defects caused by improper installation or repair — if a task wasn’t completed accurately, safely, or to professional standards
- Craftsmanship-related concerns directly tied to our work — loose connections, improper assembly, incomplete labor, or poor technique
Real Examples — We Fix Free
Plumbing: We installed a faucet that leaks from connections we made → Fixed free
Drywall: We repaired a hole but it cracks again due to improper technique → Re-repaired free
Painting: We painted walls but paint is peeling due to improper surface prep → Repainted free
Electrical: We installed an outlet improperly creating a hazard → Corrected to code free
Not Covered
Wear, misuse, external factors & out-of-scope issues
- Damage caused by normal wear and tear, misuse, or external factors — accidents, weather, pests, flooding, or any event outside our control
- Issues related to materials, parts, or equipment NOT supplied by NorTech — if a customer-provided part fails, it falls outside our warranty
- Service requests outside the original scope of work — upgrades, new tasks, or unrelated issues require a separate service quote
- Work that was subsequently modified, altered, or worked on by a third party — this voids the warranty on that scope
Real Examples — Not Covered
Paint: Paint fading after 3 years of sun exposure → Normal wear, not covered
Roofing: Tree falls on a roof we recently repaired → External cause, not covered
Electrical: You overload a circuit we installed → Misuse, not covered
Plumbing: We installed your faucet but the faucet itself fails → We didn’t supply it, not covered
Scope: We repaired kitchen plumbing, now bathroom has a leak → Different scope, not covered
Third Party: You hired someone else to “improve” our installation → Warranty voided
Trip Fees May Apply for Warranty Visits
Trip fees or call-out fees may apply for service corrections requested under the labor warranty. These fees cover transportation, technician dispatch, and assessment time. Labor costs for verified workmanship issues remain covered in full — you only pay to get us there, not to fix the problem.
Filing a Claim
How to File a Warranty Claim
If you believe an issue arose due to our workmanship within the 1-year warranty period, here’s the exact process to get it resolved quickly and at no additional labor cost.
1
Contact NorTech Customer Support
Reach out to our support team with a clear description of the issue. Describe what’s happening, which service it relates to, and when the problem first appeared. Submit a ticket through the Customer Portal for the fastest response.
2
Provide Proof of Service
Have your original service receipt and service documentation ready. This verifies the date of service, the scope of work performed, and that the job falls within the 1-year warranty period. This is required to open a claim.
3
NorTech Schedules an Assessment Visit
Our team will schedule a technician to visit, assess the issue, and determine whether it falls under the warranty. This visit confirms the cause is workmanship-related before any correction begins. A trip fee may apply for this visit.
4
Workmanship Issue Corrected — No Labor Cost
If the issue is confirmed as workmanship-related and within scope, a NorTech-authorized technician corrects it at no additional labor cost. All warranty corrections must be completed through NorTech — third-party repairs void the warranty.
How to Reach Us
Submit a warranty claim through the NorTech Support Ticket Portal, or contact our dispatch team during business hours (Mon–Fri, 9 AM – 5 PM). Include your service date, original job number, and a description of the issue for the fastest processing.
Integrity & Rules
Maintaining Warranty Integrity
Every warranty claim is handled with professionalism, fairness, and full accountability. These rules protect both you and the quality of service you receive.
No Direct Technician Payments
Never pay a technician directly for warranty-related repairs. All service corrections must be processed through NorTech to ensure quality control and full transparency.
NorTech Exclusivity
This 1-year labor warranty is valid only through NorTech and cannot be transferred to any third-party providers. Third-party work on the same scope voids the warranty immediately.
Legal Compliance
This warranty complies with industry standards and consumer protection regulations, reinforcing NorTech’s commitment to service excellence and fair business practices.
Documentation Required
Proof of service — including your receipt and original service documentation — is required to open any warranty claim. Keep your service records accessible.
Transferable Ownership
The warranty may transfer to a new property or vehicle owner if properly documented. Contact us to discuss the transfer process before the original warranty period expires.
Escalation Available
If you disagree with a warranty determination, request escalation to a manager for a fair reassessment. We take every claim seriously and review each one on its merits.
Coverage Details
Warranty Eligibility
The Labor Warranty applies to most NorTech services — but not all service categories are included. Here’s a clear breakdown.
Eligible Services
The Labor Warranty applies exclusively to home services and select automotive services booked and paid for through the NorTech platform. This includes electrical, plumbing, HVAC, painting, installations, repairs, and more.
Automotive Exclusions
Automotive services involving repairs, maintenance, and roadside assistance are excluded from this Labor Warranty. Vehicle-related solutions operate under a separate quality assurance process.
Emergency Service Exclusion
Emergency services are not covered under this warranty. These visits operate under urgent-response protocols that prioritize immediate safety. Quality concerns from emergency visits are handled through Customer Support.
How This Differs from the Satisfaction Guarantee
The Satisfaction Guarantee covers immediate quality concerns within 72 hours of service completion. The Labor Warranty covers workmanship defects that emerge over the following 12 months. Both are independent coverages and can apply to the same service at different points in time. Learn more about the Satisfaction Guarantee →
Common Questions
Labor Warranty FAQs
Answers to the most common questions about what’s covered, how to claim, and what to expect.
How long is the warranty period?
1 full year from the date service was completed. The clock starts the day the job is finished and signed off, not from the date you notice an issue.
What if I moved — does the warranty transfer?
The warranty may transfer to a new owner if properly documented before the original period expires. Contact us to discuss the transfer process and what documentation is needed.
What if the same issue keeps coming back?
Contact us. If it’s genuinely the same workmanship issue recurring, we’ll reassess and address it. Repeated claims on the same issue may indicate a larger underlying problem that requires a different solution — we’ll work through it with you.
Do I have to use NorTech for the repair?
Yes — to maintain warranty coverage, all corrections must be completed by a NorTech-authorized technician. Using another provider to “fix” the issue immediately voids the warranty on that scope.
Is there a limit to how many claims I can file?
There’s no specific limit on warranty claims. However, repeated claims on the same issue may indicate a larger underlying problem that requires a more comprehensive solution rather than repeated corrections.
Can I get a refund instead of a repair?
The Labor Warranty provides repair — we return and fix the workmanship issue at no labor cost. Significant cases that cannot be resolved through repair may be discussed on a case-by-case basis. Contact support for details.
What if the technician damaged something else during the visit?
Property damage that occurs during a service visit is covered separately under our insurance policy — not under the Labor Warranty. Report it immediately through a support ticket so we can begin the claims process.
What if I disagree with NorTech’s warranty determination?
Request escalation to a manager for a full review. We reassess every disputed claim fairly and thoroughly. If new information is presented, our determination can change.
