NorTech Inspection Services Terms & Conditions
Scope of Service
NorTech inspections are non-invasive, visual evaluations performed by certified field technicians. These inspections are designed to assess general system condition, identify potential safety concerns, and provide preventive maintenance insights.
Corrective repairs, part replacements, and installations are not included unless quoted and scheduled separately.
While our technicians may perform basic diagnostic tasks—such as testing voltage, tightening visible loose connections, or verifying airflow—they do not alter, modify, or repair systems during an inspection appointment.
Inspection services are not a substitute for full engineering evaluations, real estate inspections, or municipal code compliance reviews.
Scheduling & Access
- All inspections must be scheduled in advance via the NorTech Member Portal or through our Dispatch Team.
- Customers are responsible for providing unrestricted access to all relevant inspection areas, including:
- Electrical panels, HVAC units, plumbing fixtures, attics, crawlspaces, roofs, and appliances.
- Any blocked, unsafe, or inaccessible areas may result in partial inspection, rescheduling, or additional service fees.
- Customers must disclose known hazards or restricted areas (e.g. vermin, standing water, hazardous materials) prior to the visit.
Technician Conduct
- NorTech technicians adhere to a strict code of conduct, including safety, professionalism, and protective equipment protocols.
- Technicians will:
- Inspect designated systems based on inspection type
- Take photos or notes as appropriate
- Answer general questions about their findings
- Technicians will not provide pricing, modify services, or perform repairs during an inspection unless previously arranged.
Service Deliverables
- A digital inspection report will be delivered via email within 24 hours of service completion. Reports include:
- Technician observations
- Photographic documentation (if applicable)
- Preventive maintenance or follow-up recommendations
- Reports are intended for homeowner use and service planning. They may also assist in warranty reviews but are not legally binding assessments.
Limitations of Liability
- NorTech is not liable for damages or defects that occur after the date of inspection, including those caused by:
- Deferred maintenance
- Hidden or inaccessible damage
- Environmental changes (e.g. storms, flooding)
- Inspections are limited to visible and safely accessible areas. We cannot assess systems hidden behind walls, ceilings, buried lines, or obstructed equipment.
- The customer assumes responsibility for site readiness, accurate information sharing, and post-inspection decisions.
Inspection Duration & Completion
- Most inspections are completed in 30 to 60 minutes, depending on:
- Property size
- System complexity
- Ease of access
- If technicians encounter unsafe or inaccessible areas, they may:
- Complete a partial inspection
- Recommend a reschedule
- Document the limitation in your report
