Export your customers from QuickBooks

  1. QuickBooks Online: open Reports, run Customer Contact List, add the columns you want, then use the Export icon and choose Excel.
  2. QuickBooks Desktop: export your lists to an IIF file, or save the Customer Contact List report as CSV.
  3. Upload the file here.

What to expect. The report path is confirmed. The report columns are chosen by you, and the IIF customer column names beyond the billing address lines are not confirmed, so check the mapping. A combined billing address cell is split into street, city, state and ZIP on a best-effort basis.

Open balances come in as notes only, never as invoices.

Switch in an afternoon: three steps

Step 1

Export from your old tool

Each tool has its own export. The steps for yours are below. It takes a few minutes, and nothing changes in the old tool.

Step 2

Upload and check

Drop the file into NorTech Pro Business. We match the columns, flag problem rows and spot customers you already have. You see every row before anything is saved.

Step 3

Import, and undo if you need to

One tap imports your customers, addresses, notes, tags and price book. Changed your mind? Undo the last import in one tap.

You can always leave

One click in the app exports your customers, jobs, invoices and price book as plain CSV files in a single ZIP. It is free on every plan, including after you downgrade, so your data is never held hostage. If NorTech is not right for you, take everything and go.

Want us to move your QuickBooks customers for you?

Send your export and NorTech staff will import it, then reply in writing. No file yet? Tell us and we will help you find it.

Your file is used only to set up your account, is kept with restricted access, and is opened only by the NorTech staff who do the import.

Questions about leaving QuickBooks

How do I export my customers from QuickBooks?

QuickBooks Online: open Reports, run Customer Contact List, add the columns you want, then use the Export icon and choose Excel. QuickBooks Desktop: export your lists to an IIF file, or save the Customer Contact List report as CSV. Upload the file here. The report path is confirmed. The report columns are chosen by you, and the IIF customer column names beyond the billing address lines are not confirmed, so check the mapping. A combined billing address cell is split into street, city, state and ZIP on a best-effort basis.

What moves over from my old tool?

Customers, their addresses (several per customer), phone numbers and emails, notes, tags, lead source, and your own price book items. An old open balance comes in as a note so you remember it; it never becomes an invoice. Job history and past invoices are not imported, so keep an export of those from the old tool for your records.

Will importing change or delete anything in my old tool?

No. An import only reads the file you upload. Keep your old subscription running until you are comfortable, then cancel it yourself.

What if I import something wrong?

Every row is checked before it is saved, and you can download a file of the rows that had problems. If you still want to start over, undo the last import in one tap. Customers you changed with a merge are put back as they were, and customers you have already built estimates or invoices for are kept.

How are customers I already have handled?

NorTech matches on email, phone number and the ID from your old tool. You choose whether to skip them, add the missing details to them, or update them. A shared address alone is only flagged, never merged for you.

Can I leave NorTech later?

Yes. Export your customers, jobs, invoices and price book as CSV files at any time, on every plan.

Can NorTech staff do the import for me?

Yes. Send your export file with the done-for-you form on this page and NorTech staff will import it and reply in writing.

How accurate is the price comparison?

The prices for other tools are typical published starting prices as of October 2026, taken from public pages and comparison articles that do not always agree. They only pre-fill the calculator. Type what you really pay, and check each vendor for current numbers.
