Cookie Policy
Effective Date: [PENDING โ effective upon attorney approval]
This Policy explains the cookies and similar technologies we use, why we use them, and how to control them. We use only strictly necessary, functional, and analytics cookies โ we do not run third-party advertising or cross-site ad-targeting. See how we honor the Global Privacy Control (Section 7) and how this relates to our Privacy Policy (Section 8).
1. Introduction
This Cookie Policy explains how NorTech ("NorTech", "we", "us", or "our") uses cookies and similar technologies on our website, booking tools, and client portal (the "Services"). It should be read together with our Privacy Policy, which describes how we handle personal information more generally. By using the Services, you agree to our use of cookies as described here and as permitted by applicable law.
2. What Cookies & Similar Technologies Are
Cookies are small text files stored on your device when you visit a website. Similar technologies include local storage, session storage, pixels, and software development kits used in apps. These technologies let the Services recognize your device, keep you signed in, remember your preferences, and understand how the Services are used. Cookies may be "session" cookies (deleted when you close your browser) or "persistent" cookies (kept until they expire or are deleted).
3. Categories of Cookies We Use
We use three categories of cookies: (a) Strictly necessary cookies โ including session and authentication cookies โ that are required to operate the Services, keep you signed in, route requests securely, and protect against fraud and abuse; these cannot be turned off through our Services. (b) Functional/preference cookies that remember choices such as your location, language, or display settings to improve your experience. (c) Analytics cookies that help us understand, in aggregate, how visitors use the Services so we can improve them. We do NOT use cookies for third-party advertising or cross-site ad-targeting.
4. Purposes โ Examples
We use cookies and similar technologies to, for example: keep you securely signed in to your account and portal; remember items in progress, such as a booking you have started; remember preferences like your service ZIP or display settings; protect the Services against fraud, abuse, and security threats; and measure aggregate usage and performance so we can fix problems and improve the Services. We do not use these technologies to build advertising profiles or to target you with ads across other websites.
5. Third-Party Processors
Some cookies are set by trusted service providers that process information on our behalf, principally for analytics and for security and infrastructure that underlies the Services. These processors are contractually limited to using the information to provide services to us, and we do not permit them to use it for their own cross-site advertising. We do not sell cookie data to advertisers or data brokers. See our Privacy Policy for the list of service providers we rely on.
6. Managing or Disabling Cookies
You can manage or disable cookies through your browser settings โ most browsers let you block or delete cookies and notify you when a cookie is set. Because strictly necessary cookies are required to operate the Services, disabling cookies may break functionality such as signing in, completing a booking, or accessing your portal. The method for managing cookies depends on your browser; consult your browser's help documentation for instructions.
7. Do Not Track & Global Privacy Control
Some browsers offer a "Do Not Track" (DNT) signal. Because there is no common industry standard for how to interpret DNT, we do not currently respond to DNT signals. We do, however, honor the Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal where required by law as an opt-out preference signal, consistent with our Privacy Policy. Because we do not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising, there is no advertising opt-out to apply.
8. Relationship to the Privacy Policy
This Cookie Policy is part of, and should be read together with, our Privacy Policy. The Privacy Policy describes the categories of personal information we collect (including information collected through cookies), how we use and disclose it, how long we keep it, and the privacy rights available to California residents, including how we honor the Global Privacy Control.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time. Material changes will be posted here with an updated effective date and, where appropriate, additional notice. Your continued use of the Services after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
