Septic & Well Services
Homes on septic and well systems are responsible for their own wastewater and water supply, and neglect shows up as slow drains, backups, odors or weak water pressure. Regular pumping and a look at the pump and pressure tank prevent costly failures. NorTech connects you with vetted licensed contractors who set their own price for septic and well service.

Septic pumping and why the schedule matters
A septic tank separates solids from wastewater, and over time the sludge layer grows until it reaches the outlet and sends solids into the drain field. Pumping every three to five years is common, though large households and small tanks need it more often. The contractor opens the lids, measures sludge and scum depth, pumps the tank and checks baffles, risers and the effluent filter. A written record helps you plan the next service and answers questions during a home sale.
Drain fields, warning signs and what to avoid
The drain field spreads treated water into the soil and is the most expensive part to replace. Warning signs include slow drains, gurgling pipes, wet or lush patches over the field, odors and sewage backing up in low fixtures. Avoid flushing wipes, grease and chemicals, driving over the field and planting trees nearby. If a field is failing, a contractor can evaluate whether rest, repair or replacement is appropriate, and may recommend a design review and permit.
Well pumps, pressure tanks and water quality
A well system includes a pump, a pressure tank, a pressure switch and the piping that delivers water to the house. Symptoms of trouble include sputtering faucets, short cycling of the pump, low pressure and air in the lines. A technician tests flow and pressure, checks the tank’s air charge and inspects the electrical controls. Water quality testing is a separate service, and local health departments often have guidelines for bacteria, nitrates and other contaminants.
