1. How NorTech Takes Payments
NorTech requires prepayment for all services in order to confirm and secure your appointment. This ensures:
- Your technician is reserved
- Materials can be prepared or ordered
- Your service window is locked in
- Your project is prioritized in our dispatch system
1.1 Prepayment Requirement
To confirm any service, the Customer must:
- Approve the Service Assessment or Work Order
- Submit payment in advance using an approved payment method
Your appointment is not confirmed until payment is received.
1.2 When You Are Charged
Your payment method is charged only after you accept the Completion Report at the end of your service.
The process works like this:
- You prepay to reserve your appointment
- Your payment method is authorized but not captured
- The technician completes the work
- You review and accept the Completion Report
- Your payment is finalized and captured
If additional work is required, a revised Work Order will be issued for approval before any charges are made.
1.3 Accepted Payment Methods
NorTech accepts:
- Credit and debit cards
- Digital wallets (Apple Pay, Google Pay, etc.)
- Buy Now, Pay Later (BNPL) providers such as Klarna, Afterpay, Affirm, and others
- NorTech membership credits (where applicable)
2. Buy Now, Pay Later (BNPL) Options
Pay for your service in installments instead of all at once. Split costs into smaller payments spread over weeks or months with approved financing.
2.1 Available BNPL Providers
Depending on your location and eligibility, you may see options such as:
- Klarna
- Afterpay
- Affirm
- PayPal Pay Later
- Additional providers as they become available
Each provider has its own approval process, repayment schedule, and terms.
3. How BNPL Works With NorTech
3.1 Simple Checkout
When scheduling your service, you may select a BNPL option at checkout. You’ll be redirected to the provider’s secure portal to:
- Review financing terms
- Complete identity verification
- Approve your payment plan
Once approved, your appointment is confirmed.
3.2 BNPL Approval
Approval is determined solely by the BNPL provider. NorTech cannot:
- Influence approval decisions
- Modify repayment terms
- View your credit information
- Guarantee approval
3.3 When BNPL Is Charged
Just like standard payments:
- Your BNPL authorization is placed at booking
- Your BNPL plan is activated only after you accept the Completion Report
- If additional work is added, a new BNPL authorization may be required
4. BNPL Transaction Fees
BNPL providers charge NorTech a processing fee for each financed transaction. This fee:
- Varies by provider
- Is based on the provider’s pricing structure
- Is passed through to the Customer as a BNPL Transaction Fee
The fee will be displayed at checkout or included in your invoice. It is non‑refundable once the BNPL provider processes the transaction.
Why the fee? BNPL providers charge us for the financing service. We pass through this cost to ensure pricing fairness for customers who pay upfront.
Alternatives:
- Pay with credit/debit card: No BNPL fee
- Use your own credit card’s installment plan
- Save up and book when ready
5. Refunds, Adjustments & Cancellations
5.1 Refund Routing
If a refund is approved:
- NorTech issues the refund directly to the BNPL provider
- The BNPL provider adjusts your repayment schedule
Refunds cannot be issued directly to the Customer.
5.2 Non‑Refundable Items
BNPL refunds do not override NorTech’s policies regarding:
- Special‑order materials
- Completed labor
- Dispatch or trip fees
- Cancellation fees
- Membership fees
5.3 Partial Refunds
If only part of your service is refundable, the BNPL provider will update your remaining balance accordingly.
6. Customer Responsibilities
To ensure smooth payment and financing processing, customers must:
- Provide accurate contact and billing information
- Review BNPL terms before selecting a provider
- Maintain an active payment method with the BNPL provider
- Respond promptly to NorTech or BNPL communications
- Accept the Completion Report to finalize payment
Failure to comply may result in:
- Appointment delays
- Service cancellation
- Loss of BNPL eligibility
- Account suspension
7. Important Notes About BNPL
- BNPL Is Separate Agreement Your BNPL plan is between you and the provider, not NorTech. We process service, they manage financing
- NorTech cannot modify BNPL fees, terms, or repayment schedules
- BNPL Doesn’t Override Policies NorTech’s service terms, warranties, and policies still apply regardless of payment method.
- Emergency Services BNPL may not be available for emergency services due to immediate payment needs.
- Account Suspension Risk Attempting to dispute valid BNPL charges through your bank may result in account suspension and denial of future services.
- Payment Method Must Remain Valid For BNPL, your payment method must remain active for the full payment term.
